Dr. Gilau is an eminent environment policy and risk analyst. During his two decades of professional career Dr. Gilau has worked for the government institutions, multilateral organizations (ADB, FAO, UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP, UNDRR etc.), as well as in private sector.
Dr Gilau is one of the vetted international climate resilience, adaptation, and mitigation expert at three UNDP Regional Offices (Africa, Easter Europe and Central Asia, and Latin America and Caribbean) and an international advisor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Dr. Gilau has over than 20 years of professional experiences providing services to the government institutions, multilateral organizations (ADB, FAO, UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP, UNDRR etc.), and private sector. He has served as a team leader for more than 50 projects and published over 100 technical reports, pre-reviewed papers, and books. An examples of a book whom Dr. Gilau served as a co-lead author in a chapter on the Global Energy Assessment of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Luxemburg, Austria and lead author on climate change of Third National Communication to the UNFCCC of Nigeria (www.unfccc.int).
